Threshold House
Threshold House investigates the moment of arrival as architectural experience. The project compresses and releases space across a sequence of thresholds — from street to garden, from garden to entry, from entry to interior — each transition calibrated to shift the inhabitant's perception of scale, light, and material.
The design began with a series of sectional studies exploring the relationship between ceiling height and emotional register. Models were built at 1:50 and 1:20 to test the compression of the entry sequence. Material palette — raw concrete, weathered steel, and oiled oak — was selected to age deliberately over time.
